Anxiety is often used to describe feelings of fear, hesitation, etc.
Do you need effective help for anxiety problems? Some tell us that they have anxiety when in an unfamiliar environment, have to give a presentation, drive on the expressway, meet new people, authority figures, etc. Some say they have anxiety “all” the time. It can be a nervous or agitated feeling with thoughts or worries something is about to happen. This can lead to extreme panic. Once we realize that worry is like paying interest in advance on money we haven’t even borrowed yet, we realize how unproductive it is to worry ourselves into a state of anxiety.
Anxiety is a pattern of behavior
Many people have a large sloppy file cabinet labeled fear. They have a fear of fear. It has often been said that we humans have only two hard-wired fears and they are fear of loud noises and fear of falling. All other fears are learned. Learned fear can lead to behavior patterns of anxiety. Many people have learned these fear patterns over time and they can lead to extremely unpleasant anxiety and unwelcome stress.
Stress occurs when the world doesn’t behave the way we think it should. We ask you how do know when, with whom, where, how to have anxiety? It is like foretelling the future—what’s going to happen and how you will behave. It is essentially planning to have the anxiety. You can end anxiety by realizing that you have learned it and, you can unlearn it. It is a pattern of behavior that with your own inner resources you can end.
Because the brain learns quickly, the anxiety response pattern can often be interrupted and re-patterned (re-conditioned). A more useful pattern of responding can be learned causing the person to respond with more positive, productive resources. Thus the person feels more in charge of their responses to any stimulus and therefore their life. You can choose to be response (able).
